The Columbia | IBM Blockchain Accelerator is a non-dilutive set of programs for building and scaling successful enterprise blockchain companies globally. Our goal is to help the best emerging blockchain companies succeed at scale, and to enable the first generation of blockchain business networks.

As a pillar of the new Columbia-IBM Center for Blockchain and Data Transparency, IBM and Columbia University are partnering to offer top blockchain companies from around the world a customized program with education from industry and academic research experts, hands-on value-added workshops, active mentoring and curated customer meetings. We do not take equity nor charge a fee for participating, and include technology and services valued at approximately $400K per company.

For growth companies focused on building out an enterprise business network and client base for their blockchain product.


In-person modules in New York and San Francisco, 3 in-person 1-week modules in New York and San Francisco.


8 weeks, starting in late January 2019, with 9 required days in person and the remaining optional or virtual.


Applications open in early 2019.

For pre-seed, idea-stage companies affiliated with an accredited university located in New York City. Grants of up to $10K are available for a subset of the participating teams based on committee review.
